How Ironic - In Several Ways

October 20th, 2008

This story comes to us from goot ol’ England.

Blow to image of ‘green’ reusable nappy

A government report that found old-fashioned reusable nappies damage the environment more than disposables has been hushed up because ministers are embarrassed by its findings.

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has instructed civil servants not to publicise the conclusions of the £50,000 nappy research project and to adopt a “defensive” stance towards its conclusions.

There are two parts to this story that I find especially ironic. The first, and perhaps least surprising bit, is the enviro-retards decision to actively try to cover this up. The claim to be interested in stopping the Global Fry Monster, yet are willing to hide this to prevent embarrassment on their parts. It is really quite pathetic, and just adds to my distrust of anything they say.

If you are a person like me, who thinks global warming is a sham, then you can look at the Kool Aid drinking Goreonauts at least with some respect usually. You can look at the followers and say, “Well at least they are trying to be helpful”. Of course when they do stuff like this, it kind of ruins any goodwill I would have towards them. If you are espousing an altruistic dedication to saving us from global warming, you sure as hell better be honest about what you find!

The second part of the glorious irony of this story really comes up in the comments section. Disposable diapers are landfill nightmares. They take forever to break down of course. This obviously make clothe nappies (I had to say nappy once), much more environmentally friendly. Forget the carbon footprint madness for once, and actually protect our natural environment, if that is truly your goal.

These Goreonauts are despicable political creatures. They are more interested in protecting their dogma, than actually helping the planet.

This of course is nothing new, and is the direct result of people forgetting about the science of conservation, and replacing it with radical environmentalism, key word here being mental.

    As James from Tennessee wrote:
“I wish people would come to understand that all this “save the planet” nonsense is nothing more than a political movement designed to control your life by telling you what you can eat, drink, wear, drive, and so on. It’s all about power for politicians and little about actually doing some good.”
    AMEN!
