Where Do We Go Now?

November 5th, 2008

Michelle Malkin has a good list of ideas. She also offers this:

There is no time to lick wounds, point fingers, and wallow in post-election mud.

I’m getting a lot of moan-y, sad-face “What do we do now, Michelle?” e-mails.

What do we do now? We do what we’ve always done.

We stand up for our principles, as we always have — through Democrat administrations and Republican administrations, in bear markets or bull markets, in peacetime and wartime.

We stay positive and focused.

We keep the faith.

We do not apologize for our beliefs. We do not re-brand them, re-form them, or relinquish them. We defend them.

We pay respect to the office of the presidency. We count our blessings and recommit ourselves to our constitutional republic.

We gird our loins, to borrow a phrase from our Vice President-elect.

We lock and load our ideological ammunition.

We fight.

Exactly. We fight. We must stand up for our country and help rebuild our fallen and broken party.

We must continue to be salt and light both in and to the world. This means just as Michelle stated - we defend our belief system - never allowing it to be dumbed nor watered down in order to conform to some agenda. In our case, we continue to fight for those things that are right and good and just in the eyes of God.

I found myself very grieved Tuesday night. Wishing I already had land somewhere that I could build a huge fence and gate around. Driving to and from work, wondering just how much the face of our nation is going to change, how much longer will it be safe to commute on the streets of our nation. There is just something so unsettling about this man that will be leading our nation. I cannot even find the words to explain. I know that God does not give us a spirit of fear, so I fight hard against the fear that fills my heart and my mind at times. I don’t fear the end, because I know that I will be with my Lord Jesus. I grieve for my children/ grandchildren to come the road that may lay before them. I am even more convicted about pouring myself into the word of God for the peace, assurance and guidance to face the days ahead. I continue to lift up our Nation and pray that God will give us favor in light of the majority that has turned it back on God.

So I may fortify my home with ammo/guns and my finances to prepare for dark days. But more than that I truely believe God is calling me into battle on a spiritual relm. I need to take up my sword, but on my armour, fortity my heart with HIS words of hope for CHANGE WE CAN believe in, be the prayer warrior that HE created me to be. Standing strong in my faith, unashamedly proclaiming my love for my Lord and my country. I am going to choose to believe that God is not finished with our Great Nation. My prayer is that God will allow us to once again put our faith in HIM and not in man, and that HE will take hold of the heart of our President Elect and that God will use the gifts and talents that he has bestowed upon this man to show that the only REAL CHANGE one can achieve is through the saving grace of Christ Jesus .
