Hopefully my few readers have not given up on me. There has been a brief hiatus from blogging tied into the Thanksgiving holiday, and being very busy at work. Regular posting will resume now. I have a couple of book reviews to work on, and have some thoughts about Obama’s cabinet picks and such. I have completed Hemingway’s great A Farewell to Arms, and will review it in the next few days. The order of the reading list has been officially thrown overboard. Reading something from the list, that interested me was more important than strictly adhering to the order, which had been my previous intention.
There has been an intentional avoidance, on my part, of all things political for the last couple of weeks. The election is over, and we our all waiting to see what President Obama is going to do. Hopefully my assumptions about him will be proven wrong, and all will be well. This is doubtful based on his history, but we shall see.
There is also almost a feeling of ‘post-politicism’ within me. This is no doubt just an internal valve being turned down, so that my soul will survive all that has gone wrong in the last few months for those of us that oppose higher taxes, and more nanny government. Having lost the first election that I really cared about, I find myself wanting to ignore the whole mess. President Bush’s two elections were the first that I participated in, and having won both of them, this new defeat was quite a shock. As a country-loving American my feelings are not sustainable, so surely this disgust at the whole prospect will fade soon. It could be a couple of months, or five minutes. Time will tell.
Please, watch this video. It is from a former KGB agent Yuri Bezmenov, and was recorded back in the ’80s. He is warning us about how the Marxist-Leninists (the Soviets at the time), planned to infiltrate and takeover our country.
Fortunately for our country, Ronald Reagan and others helped defeat the Soviets and they failed to take over while they were still in power. Unfortunately, their useful idiots were left intact. These are the Hollywood morons, the professors in our schools, government bureaucrats, much of our media, and others.
The Marxist-Leninist plan has finally succeeded in getting one of themselves, Barack Obama, into the highest office in the land. They used the idiots in our society, the lazy sheep looking for government handouts and those that pay no attention to anything, to elect him.
The Soviets worked on these things for decades. Senator McCarthy, while being branded as a kook, turned out to be correct. Our Department of State was chock full of Marxists. This was sixty years ago! Since the 60s these people have gained power across our country and have taken over our institutions.
We have seen the writing on the wall. We are headed for socialism-lite in this country at a rapid pace. The three-headed mongrel dog of Obama, Pelosi, and Reid, is chomping at the bit to get moving on their fundamental change. They plan to lead us into western European socialism as fast as they can.
Meanwhile the real dangerous communists are up to their old tricks. They have succeeded in their old plot to consolidate power in America around the soft American left. They have Obama to deal with. He is a weak leader, and has already proven to be soft on Russian aggression. There is more to Obama than this however, as we will look at shortly.
Seeing these developments, the communists of the world are acting. They are acting right now. Lets look at a couple of current headlines shall we.
Russian leader Medvedev heading to Cuba, VenezuelaHere we have the Russian President heading to Cuba and Venezuela. These are of course the two strongholds of Marxist-Leninist socialists in our hemisphere currently. The Russians are supplying weapons to Chavez, conducting military games with him, and moving to start oil field work there. The Russians are expanding their oil production capabilities in our hemisphere, while we sit around and worry about global warming. This will leave us defenseless in the event of a crisis, in which our foreign oil supplies are cut off. Game over.
U.S. critical of Russia’s Baltic missile threatsSo Reagan did teach the Soviet’s something about negotiating after all! What a shrewd move on the part of the Russians. Obama is going to fold like a house of cards on this one, and it WILL be only the beginning of the games. The Russians will continue to test him, and take full advantage of him as long as they can. They have judged him well I think. Hopefully they are wrong, and he will step up to defend our country and our allies from this resurgent monster. This would assume that he is in fact, not on their side.
China’s Hu to visit Washington, CubaThis one actually scares me. China and Russia have been enemies for centuries. Even though they were ideological allies for decades, they had generally rocky relations during the time of the Soviet Union. A coming together of these two, along with their western hemisphere comrades, could prove disastrous for us. This is the reason we fought communism for all those years. This is why we helped overthrow people like Allende, and fought the Sandanistas. We knew that communist expansion would be the end for us. That is why we spent so long fighting it. Now we are going to be run by sympathetic morons, just at the time we need to fight the most.

This is why McCain kept saying that he saw him as such, during the debates. Unfortunately that didn’t mean anything to 52% of us. We were to interested in hope and change. Guess what? Change is coming, with it you may lose all hope.
Worried yet? You probably should be.
This brings us to the very interesting point of our discussion. Where does the American Left and their Messiah Barack Obama stand in all of this. Are they the well-meaning idiots of Jonah Goldberg, or Soviet-style totalitarian communists in disguise.
At this point I do not know the answer. There is also the question of whether or not it really matters. Good intentions don’t make up for losing one’s freedom or life after all. It would be nice to think that 52% of our populace could never be duped into voting for such a regime, but my hope in the American people was severely dashed when the picked Obama at all.
The circumstantial evidence pointing to Obama at least leaning towards authoritarian control is everywhere. His relationships with the Ayers, his membership of a black liberation church (liberation theology is rooted in Marxism), his shady dealings and election tactics in Illinois, and his polished message all point towards bad things for us conservative, patriotic, gun-toting Americans.
The most shocking revelation to me was his plan for a Civilian Defense Force. I have mentioned that here before. Just the thought of such a thing brings of visions of Hitler’s Brown-shirts, or Stalin’s old NKVD thugs. Couple this with Obama’s propensity for gun control, and you have a witch’s brew of bad intentions.

This scares me more than anything else that has been mentioned thus far. They seem to be aiming to turn our children into indoctrinated pawns for the state. What will they do next, have them spy on us, and report any negative comments we make against the anointed one? We will discuss this little plan in more detail here in a separate post later.
The Economist has a good article on China’s new government bailout plan.
As a conservative and a proud American citizen, I never thought I would live to see the day when our government mirrored that of communist China. These bailouts are completely socialistic in nature, and are set to balloon out of control. Read the article, and look at the similarities between the plans, and the kind of things the Democrats are proposing we do with our bailout money. The similarities are shocking. Well, they are only shocking if you don’t see the Democrats as the big government, tyrannical, socialist bastards that they are.
So much for freedom of speech. This is typical of lefties though. They are all about our right to protest, until someone shows up to protest that doesn’t agree with them. The guy that was yelling at her in the beginning of the video needs his ass kicked for picking on an elderly woman. He also needs to be arrested and prosecuted for assault and destruction of property.
These protesters, and the ones that have been interrupting church services, are nothing more than a bunch of deviant thugs.
It has now been four years since Yasser Arafat was confirmed dead by the PLO (may he rot in hell forever). On the same day Mahmoud Abbas was elected chairmen. This day is implanted in my mind forever. It brought such great hope, that finally Israel would have a man they could really deal with.
This has turned out to not be the case unfortunately. It is a great disappointment to all who care about our stalwart ally. We must hold the Democrats feet to the fire, and demand that they continue to support the fledgling democracy. If we don’t no one will.
The Israelis need our support. Today I saw that Olmert is wavering on Jerusalem. It is a sad state of affairs for them, to have such leadership in this dangerous time. Hopefully soon a new and better government can be created.
There is little doubt that Chris Matthews is and has been for years nothing more than a political hack. While he has been accused by both sides of being in the tank for their opponents over the years, Matthews has become nothing more than a mouthpiece for Barack Obama and the Democrats now. The video above is concrete proof of this, even if his tingling leg wasn’t. While it is admirable to want a new President to do well, Matthews has illustrated to everyone that he has no credibility left as a journalist.
He masquerades as a journalist every night. A journalist’s job is to inform the people watching of what is going on in their world, and what they need to pay attention to. It is not the job of a journalist to be a cheerleader for Barack Obama. Honestly, I would have no problem with this if he was simply a commentator, that let it be known in advance where his loyalties lie. That would be fine of course. He would be no different than Sean Hannity, or Rush Limbaugh at that point.
He hasn’t done this though. He claims to be a journalist that is reporting news, and that is a lie. After this election there is little doubt to almost anyone that the media has an overwhelming liberal bias. Conservatives have been saying this for years, and liberals have made fun of them for it endlessly. Their rebuttals were always weak, but they clung to them.
Anyone who has had this conversation is told about how the media is owned by conservatives and therefore couldn’t possibly be biased to the left. Another often posited theory is that it is balanced out by talk radio. This of course was an admission that the mainstream media was full of liberals, but was often trotted out anyway. Often times, the Washington Times or the Wall Street Journal would be parroted about as well.
These arguments were ridiculous in the past, and are flat out stupid now. The media made no attempt to disguise their complete bias in favoring Barack Obama and the Democrats this election cycle. There is no argument to be made against an ingrained institutional bias, that has existed for years. Talk radio is full of successful right leaning talk hosts. None of them claim to be anything else than that. Talk show hosts. They aren’t journalists. Two newspapers hardly constitute balance, in a sea of leftist editorial boards, whose bias is obvious in their paper’s reporting throughout. All of the major networks are biased towards the left. Most of the cable networks, MSNBC notoriously, are full of leftist talking points. The only cable outlet that is not is the often savaged Fox News.
After the obviously biased election coverage, Matthew’s stunning revelation that his job is to prop up Barack Obama’s presidency should not come as a shock. The shocking thing to me was that he has the nerve to openly admit it, and claim it as he did in this clip. His ego is so big, that he feels he alone knows what the country needs, and it is his journalistic duty to make sure that Obama is successful.
This is evil pure and simple. It is especially angering to me, as my black first grade teacher used to take my lunch money and give it to the black kids. She was a vile evil women, whom I would slap in the face even today if the chance was given to me.
This poor little girl is attacked by this teacher because her father is a McCain supporter and a soldier. It is disgraceful that she thinks it is okay to inject her political opinions into the classroom, and force it upon these kids.
Obama’s election, and his promise to reinstate the assault weapons ban have people panicking a bit. According to this article, stores and distributors are starting to get low on their stock of semi-auto sport guns, magazines, and ammo. Any weapon that is semi-auto and has a capacity greater than 10 rounds is very popular right now, and is a potential victim to be banned.
Gun bloggers are not exempt from the buying frenzy by any means. Uncle let’s us know about Jay G’s potential black rifle purchase. There are dozens of posts on blogs and forums asking, “What should I buy before Obambi takes away our rights?!”. All these people are correct to buy what they want now. There is no telling when the ban will be reinstated, what it will contain, and there likely will not be a sunset provision this time.
The arguments against such a ban are for another post, or series of posts, but it is sufficient to sum the topic up with, “They don’t work.” This is a proven fact. I have been contemplating this for several months now. About a month or so ago an order was placed for twenty AR magazines. Today, I ordered half a case of ammo from Natchez.
We have discussed this in the past, and the wife agrees that we will need to make some more purchases before the end of the year. An AK variant of some type is on the list, along with mags and ammo for it.
The five hundred rounds of 5.56 that will be arriving are enough. Components to load several thousand more rounds will be purchased after the new year.
Hopefully we are all wrong about this, but it is better to prepare now, than to wish you had later.
This song is perfect for this week. Merle wrote the song during the dark days of the late Carter administration. The times were rough, as they are now. It is eerily appropriate.
This song is special to me. My wife and I try to live a simple life, and this song represents our simple American values. All we want to do is have a good life, get ahead a little, and raise our kids, and hopefully leave the world better than we found it. We love our country, and want to preserve it. We mourn the passing of a better time, that neither of us new. The time before the county’s innocence was lost, and the hippies ruined everything.
The song does end on a high note however. This period shall end on a high note as well, as long as we do as Merle instructs.
